Summary

Biography

Matthew Horner joined UCLA Rowing as a walk on in 2015 and quickly proved himself as one of the top novices, earning a spot in the Novice 8+ throughout the fall and racing in the Varsity 8+ as a freshman at the Loyola Marymount duel. As a sophomore he became the team’s Recruitment Chair as well as the Social Chair, and was a staple of the 2nd Varsity 8+ that won gold at the UC Challenge Cup, beat Orange Coast College on their home course, and won the club category at Pac-12s. Horner also was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team in 2017. After studying abroad in Barcelona this fall he returned to UCLA Rowing ready to compete, racing in the 2nd Varsity 8+ that won its category at the Long Beach duel.
