Summary

Biography

John Chou transferred to UCLA from El Camino College in Torrance, California in September 2017. As a junior in high school, John enlisted in the United States Air Force, immediately graduating in 2010 and shipping off to basic training in San Antonio, Texas where he fell in love with fitness and discipline. Chou spent 4 years as a diesel mechanic at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana and decided to become an engineer, leaving active duty and returning to SoCal to be a full-time student and part-time servicemen. After coming to UCLA and trying out for UCLA Men’s Rowing, John felt right at home with the team's core values of teamwork and loyalty, racing in the Novice C boat at the Ballona Cup Grand Prix.
