Entering her 8th year in the sport of rowing, Adela Armstrong-Spielberg started her rowing career at Montgomery Blair High School in Maryland. After coming to Westwood in 2014 she walked on to UCLA Rowing and quickly established herself.as one of the top novice coxswains. As a sophomore Adela battled for a spot in the 2V, racing at the LMU duel and WIRA. She was elected team Safety Officer before her 3rd year with the team, and proved her worth by coxing the 2V at every race that year, steering her crew to wins at the UC Challenge Cup and duels with LMU and OCC and 3rd place at ACRA B finals to cap off the year. In the offseason she was elected Fundraising Chair, and has organized multiple events so far including the team's SPARK Fundraiser for 2017-18. So far in her senior season, Armstrong-Spielberg coxed the Varsity 8+ to strong finishes at Head of the American, San Diego Fall Classic, and the Ballona Creek Cup. Adela hopes to go out on a high note by leading the Bruins to podium finishes at championship regattas this spring.
