Biography

Sean Pierce joined the team as a walk-on 4 years ago, and has been in many boats as a member of UCLA Rowing. After racing in the Novice 8+ his freshman season, he earned a spot in the Varsity 8+ his sophomore year. At the conclusion of his second season he was elected team treasurer. As a junior under new coach Simon Hoadley, Pierce relocated to strengthen the 2V which would win gold at the UC Challenge Cup and defeat Orange Coast College on their home course in Newport Beach. During the offseason he was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team as well as the ACRA-All-Academic Team, and was re-elected as treasurer. Sean enters his final year with the team ready to lead the Bruins to new heights, racing in a competitive 2V that placed high at Head of the American and won its category at the Ballona Creek Grand Prix.
