UCLA Men's Rugby is pleased to announce a partnership with FirstPoint USA for the 2026 UCLA Summer Rugby Camp, taking place July 23–26 on UCLA's historic Westwood campus. As part of the partnership, FirstPoint USA Director of Rugby and former Scotland international Sean Lamont will join the camp as a special guest coach.
Lamont is one of the most accomplished players in Scottish rugby history, earning 105 international caps during a distinguished 15-year Test career. A two-time Rugby World Cup participant, he competed at the highest levels of the professional game with clubs including Glasgow Warriors, Scarlets, and Northampton Saints, establishing himself as one of Scotland's most respected international players.
Now serving as Director of Rugby at FirstPoint USA, Lamont works with aspiring student-athletes seeking opportunities to combine rugby and higher education in the United States. His involvement in this year's camp will provide participants with the unique opportunity to learn directly from a player who competed on rugby's biggest stages.
"We're excited to welcome Sean and FirstPoint USA to UCLA this summer," said UCLA Head Coach Harry Bennett. "Sean brings a wealth of experience from the international game, and his passion for developing young players will make this a fantastic experience for everyone attending the camp."
Throughout the four-day camp, Lamont and Bennett will lead coaching sessions focused on skill development, game understanding, and the standards required to compete at the collegiate and international levels. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience UCLA's world-class facilities and gain insight into life as a student-athlete at one of the nation's leading universities.
The UCLA Summer Rugby Camp is designed for aspiring rugby players looking to develop their skills in a high-performance environment while learning from coaches with experience at the highest levels of the game.
Registration for the UCLA Summer Rugby Camp is now open.
