UCLA Rugby has officially been selected to compete in the inaugural FirstPoint USA Scholars Cup, a new elite collegiate rugby competition launched by National Collegiate Rugby in partnership with FirstPoint USA.
The Scholars Cup will feature UCLA alongside fellow nationally recognized academic institutions Brown, Dartmouth, and Notre Dame in a premier in-season competition designed to elevate the student-athlete experience and showcase the highest level of collegiate rugby in the United States.
"This is exactly the type of initiative college rugby needs — meaningful competition, strong institutional alignment, and opportunities that elevate the experience for student-athletes on a national stage," said Harry Bennett. "We're proud for UCLA Rugby to be part of the inaugural Scholars Cup and excited about what this can represent for the future growth of the college game."
The initiative represents another major step forward for the growth of college rugby, combining meaningful national competition with enhanced commercial partnerships, storytelling opportunities, and exposure for student-athletes both on and off the field.
For UCLA Rugby, participation in the Scholars Cup reflects the program's continued commitment to competing at the highest level while aligning with institutions that value both academic and athletic excellence.
