Oceanside, CA — The UCLA Men's Rugby team is set to close out its fall sevens campaign this weekend at the third and final leg of the West Coast Sevens Series, hosted at the SoCal Sports Complex in Oceanside, California.
Unlike the two previous stops on the circuit, this WC7 tournament will feature a traditional two-day format, with three pool matches on Saturday followed by finals brackets on Sunday. The expanded schedule will test the Bruins' depth and fitness across multiple days as they look to finish the fall sevens season on a high note.
Traveling with a 16-man roster, UCLA will aim to build on lessons from the earlier legs and deliver a complete performance in Oceanside. Head Coach Bennett said the team is focused on faster starts, work rate and execution heading into the weekend.
"We've learned a lot from the previous events, and this tournament is a great chance to showcase a solid and consistent performance," said Bennett. "Our goal is to finish strong, play with tempo, and trust our systems."
UCLA has been drawn into Pool A, which features several familiar opponents from the Southern California rugby circuit. The Bruins open against Long Beach State, face perennial powerhouse Cal, and close pool play with a matchup against San Diego State.
