UCLA Club Sports

I'm a first year at UCLA and a newbie on the dragon boat team with 4 years of previous experience on a high school team based in San Francisco. I fell in love with the sport immediately as a result of the relatively low learning curve but high difficulty to master. Every time I go out on the water for practice, there is always room for improvement, whether it be as an individual or as a team. Dragon boat perfectly mixes individual performance and teamwork, requiring everyone to work hard together and to trust each other. Despite going into my 5th year of doing the sport, I am still learning how to be more efficient and powerful on the boat. At the same time, I try to take the initiative and help fellow newbies become the best paddler they can be. Continuing my dragon boat career at UCLA with such a hard working team was definitely the right decision.
