As their final traveling meet before Nationals, the Bruins traveled to San Diego to compete at the Triton Coastal Classic, a meet hosted annually by the UCSD Club Gymnastics team.

The Bruins took home multiple podium placements, competing in all seven MAG and WAG disciplines offered. Jillian Ostaszewicz won the Xcel Platinum (XP) all around title (as well as vault, beam and floor titles) and a dominant combined score of 37.95. The XP team collected many first place finishes, including Bella Dexter on vault and Payton Rater on bars. The team's performance was especially impressive on floor, with all athletes scoring over a 9.0 and earning multiple season bests.

The Xcel Diamond team also set multiple season bests. Freshman Marla Perrier scored a 9.8 in a nearly flawless routine to win bars across both sessions. Aniya Kalyani, another freshman, earned the highest floor score of the meet with a 9.75. Katie Huang also won floor in the first session with a 9.6, while Imani Castillo Yee and Krisha Brahmbhatt won vault in their sessions with impressive yurchenko layout and front handspring 1/1 vaults, respectively. 

While competing as individual Xcel Silver athletes, Evie Arroyo and Mia Fierros shone on the floor. Both first-time competitors, they overperformed and will be moving up to the XP team starting at the next competition. As part of the level 9 team, Megan Palmer placed second on beam, and Elizabeth Sautter competed all around in her collegiate debut.

While trained as MAG athletes, Parker Mann, Adam Barba, Alex Nally, Evan Leach and Ben Harte all competed in WAG events. Some highlights included Ben's Euphoria-themed floor routine, Adam's back tuck on beam, Evan and Alex's performances on the uneven bars, and Parker's impressive beam routine.

While all 34 athletes competed in WAG events, UCLA also had 13 athletes compete MAG disciplines, including 8 W+MAG gymnasts. In the advanced (previously GymACT) division, Parker Mann placed second with a 70.6 highlighted by his Kasamatsu vault. First-year transfer Adam Barba took home the advanced rings title with a 12.4. In the intermediate division, freshman Alex Nally put up an impressive 11.4 on floor. As W+MAG intermediate competitors, Katie Huang and Imani Castillo Yee went head-to-head on floor and vault, winning first and second, respectively. As part of the developmental team, Evan Leach won the pommel horse, rings and parallel bars titles. Alessandra Swiryn Di Cosmo won the W+MAG all around and floor titles, with Brinkley Baker winning rings and parallel bars in the developmental division.

At the end of the day, the Bruins took home numerous medals and personal bests. They are looking forward to the NAIGC national championships in Alabama this April.
