UCLA Men's Rugby is excited to welcome Indiana University to Westwood this Saturday evening for a 5:00pm kickoff at the IM Rugby Field. This fixture marks the return leg of last season's special matchup, when the Bruins traveled to Bloomington to face IU inside Memorial Football Stadium. In that contest, UCLA earned a memorable 26–10 victory in front of a big home crowd for the Hoosiers.
This time around, the roles are reversed, with the Bruins hosting and looking to defend home turf. While the win in Indiana was a proud moment for the program, this year's lineup looks much different — only six of the players who traveled to Bloomington last year remain in this weekend's match day squad. With plenty of new faces and fresh combinations, the team's focus will be on playing simple, direct, and patient rugby to build continuity across the group.
Indiana will no doubt arrive hungry to even the score after last year's result, bringing their trademark physicality and intensity. For UCLA, the match represents an important early-season test against a strong out-of-conference opponent, and a great chance for our supporters to see the next wave of Bruins in action.
We encourage all Bruins alumni, families, and fans to join us at the IM Rugby Field this Saturday evening at 5:00pm to support the team. Your energy and presence make a huge difference as we look to continue building momentum this season.
Go Bruins!
