In their second tournament of the season, UCLA Quidditch fought valiantly in Arizona at Tempe Brawl V. UCLA beat all college teams in attendance and faced a new challenging opponent in Salt Lake Quidditch Club (SLQC), a club team composed of experienced community players. UCLA's returning players and coach
Christian Krieger guided UCLA through a tough-fought match in the finals against SLQC, losing by only 35 points (165-130) to come away with second place in the tournament overall.
Honorable Mentions:
Chaser Jessica Franco ran the defense in circles behind the hoops. Her fast reflexes make Jess difficult to guard in the backfield, and force teams to defend her tightly.
Laine Nowak continues to develop outstanding seeking techniques, and secured UCLA a win against ASU by catching the snitch while showing tough defense as a beater as well.
Keeper Soulaïmane Bentaleb made outstanding defensive plays throughout the tournament, limiting the opponents' ability to drive the quaffle towards the hoops.
