Last weekend, sailing team members, alumni, friends, and family gathered at the Marina Aquatic Center for the annual Alumni Regatta. This is one of the greatest traditions on our team, where past team members from all over to get back on the waters of Marina Del Rey and sail with current team members. We started the day fleet racing and then moved into team racing in the afternoon, while a delicious barbecue was prepared by the alumni on shore.
We had a great turnout this year and loved getting to sail with our alumni and showing off our new boats! Thanks to our fundraising efforts last year, we added three new boats to our fleet this year, allowing us to get a record eleven boats on the water.
We ended the day with a dinner party in Long Beach hosted by the Schweglers, where there was a raffle and silent auction for team merchandise. Thanks to our very generous alumni, we were able to raise over $2000 for the team at this event. We are so grateful to the amazing alumni for organizing this regatta, and we already can't wait until next year!
