UCLA Men's Rugby Hosts Outstanding 2026 Summer Camp
WESTWOOD, Calif. – UCLA Men's Rugby welcomed 50 aspiring student-athletes from across the United States and overseas for another highly successful annual UCLA Men's Rugby Summer Camp, delivering four action-packed days of elite coaching, player development, and the authentic Bruin student-athlete experience.

Led by UCLA Head Coach Harry Bennett, the camp brought together talented young rugby players for an immersive program designed to develop their skills on the field while providing valuable insight into collegiate rugby and the opportunities available at UCLA.
Joining Bennett on the coaching staff was FirstPoint USA Director of Rugby and former Scotland international Sean Lamont, whose wealth of professional and international experience provided campers with invaluable technical and tactical knowledge throughout the week. The coaching team was further supported by current UCLA Men's Rugby players, giving attendees the opportunity to learn directly from those currently representing the Blue and Gold.

Beyond daily training sessions, campers experienced a wide variety of activities, including rugby-specific coaching, competitive games, leadership and mindset seminars, admissions and recruiting education, campus tours, and the chance to immerse themselves in life at UCLA. The camp emphasized not only athletic development, but also the culture, values, and community that define UCLA Rugby.
The four-day experience concluded on Sunday morning with an exciting showcase match that highlighted the impressive talent assembled throughout the week. Campers demonstrated significant growth in both skill and confidence, producing a fast-paced, high-quality contest that reflected the coaching and camaraderie built over the course of the camp.

"Our goal is to provide every player with an unforgettable experience while helping them develop as rugby players and young people," said Bennett. "The standard throughout the week was exceptional. We welcomed talented athletes from across the country and around the world, and it was fantastic to see how quickly they embraced our culture, challenged themselves, and improved each day. Sunday's final match was a brilliant way to finish the camp."
The annual UCLA Men's Rugby Summer Camp continues to establish itself as one of the premier development opportunities for aspiring collegiate rugby players, strengthening connections with prospective Bruins while showcasing the tradition, excellence, and future of UCLA Rugby.
With another successful camp complete, the Bruins now turn their attention toward preparations for the upcoming 2026 fall season.
