UCLA Archery Captures First and Second Place at Regional Championships

Gold, silver, and bronze line the walls of our student athletes' dorms--and the number of championship trophies continue to grow in our team storage.

Amidst a tumultuous time that led to the delay or cancellation of several major competitions, UCLA Archery pulled through to capture first place at the Socal Indoor Archery Collegiate Championship (SIACC), and second place at the USA Archery Collegiate Target West Regionals.

In competition with 12 other colleges in the Southern California region, the team headed to the Easton Archery Center of Excellence in Chula Vista on February 21-22. Over two days of shooting, the team captured the first overall team gold medal in several years, with a tight 16 point lead over UC San Diego.

Two months later on April 12th and 13th, the team rose early to compete in West Regionals at CSU Long Beach. Despite very little time to train due to the Los Angeles fires, the team swiftly captured second place, behind USC and 12 points ahead of UC Berkeley.
