UCLA Women's Club Soccer wins the Open Division National Championship!

This year, the UCLA Women's Club Soccer team claimed yet another national championship title. The Bruins traveled to Overland Park, Kansas—flying into Kansas City, Missouri on November 19—for a five-day trip filled with competition, perseverance, camaraderie, and unforgettable team bonding.

After an unlucky but highly competitive run at the NIRSA Regionals Tournament earlier in the quarter (October 24-26), the Bruins were not able to secure a bid to the closed division of the NIRSA Nationals tournament. However, just weeks earlier they had been selected in the NIRSA Open Division Lottery Drawing, guaranteeing their place at Nationals from the start.

Motivated to make a statement and bring home a trophy, the Bruins arrived determined and prepared—and they delivered. Over three intense days, UCLA competed in six matches, demonstrating discipline, depth, and dominance:

Pool Play
5-0 vs. Ohio University
3-1 vs. University of Central Florida
5-0 vs. University of Arkansas

Quarterfinals
2-0 vs. Miami University (Ohio)

Semifinals
1-1 vs. UC Davis (won 3-2 in penalty kicks)

Finals
2-0 vs. Purdue University

This national victory adds to a remarkable four-year run for UCLA Women's Club Soccer, which now includes three NIRSA National Championship titles and one NIRSA National Finalist finish.

2022: NIRSA Open Division National Champions
2023: NIRSA Closed Division National Champions
2024: NIRSA Closed Division National Finalists
2025: NIRSA Open Division National Champions

The #1 spot is no stranger to this program. With a legacy of excellence and a roster committed to the game, UCLA Women's Club Soccer continues to set the standard nationally. We can't wait to see how the Bruins rise to the challenge again next year.
