Over the weekend of April 20-21, UCLA Archery hosted the 2024 USA Archery Collegiate Target West Regionals (abbreviated as West) on UCLA's IM Field for the first time in two years! Schools from all across the West Coast participated in the event, with hundreds of archers shooting across the two days. The club brought home an incredible first place win alongside a total of 15 medals.

We'd firstly like to give thanks to our Barebow Women Team (Yuki Kitamura, Dana Sorensen, Sharon Tam), our Recurve Men Team (Brendan Towell, Austin Pak, Brian Kim), our Fixed Pin Men Team (Kevin Hong, Tae Kang, Elkan Wong), and our Compound Women Team (Helena Xu, Annette Hsieh, Emi Tsutakawa), all of which claimed gold medals. We'd also like to thank our Compound Men Team (Joowan Kim, Sid Khillon, Nathan Kuoch) for securing a silver medal. And finally, we'd like to thank our Barebow Men Team (Nathan Lao, Quan Do, Jack Quinn) and our Recurve Women Team (Paige Martin, Sarina Mak, Madison Liao) for winning bronze medals.Â
For the Mixed Team category, we'd like to recognize Quan Do and Yuki Kitamura for winning gold in Barebow Mixed Team as well as Emi Tsutakawa and Joowan Kim for winning silver in Compound Mixed Team.
We'd also like to give attention to Yuki Kitamura for winning gold in the Barebow Women Ranking round, Tae Kang and Emi Tsutakawa for winning silver in the Fixed Pin Men and Compound Women Ranking categories, respectively, as well as Brian Kim for winning bronze in the Recurve Men Ranking category.
In the Elimination category, we'd like to shine a light on Tae Kang for winning gold in the Fixed Pin Men division. We'd also like to recognize Emi Tsutakawa for winning bronze in the Compound Women division.
We offer our heartfelt congratulations to all our Bruin archers for their incredible achievements. We couldn't be prouder of the dedication and skill demonstrated by each and every one of our attending archers. We look forward to participating and showing an even better performance at next year's West at CSU Long Beach!
