UCLA Kendo Leaps Back into the Court!

UCLA Kendo Leaps Back into the Court!

UCLA Kendo made waves after almost two years of no in person competition.

Amongst many other teams, local dojos, and universities like UCI and University of Washington, UCLA Kendo participated in the WKF (Western Kendo Federation) Year End tournament in which they showed everyone what more they can expect from this young and upcoming team.

"My win today isn't just mine, but a compilation of the hard work I and everyone put in at practice," exclaimed UCLA Kendo President and first place winner of the Adult Kyu Division, Paul Hirose. "Our team is very excited about our performance today and look forward to how we can mature and demonstrate our Kendo at the next opportunity."

The team displayed an indomitable performance on Halloween. Paul Hirose swept through his division, not dropping a single point as he made his way through the brackets. Gen Takahashi, Vice President and Captain, also made his presence known, advancing far into the 1-3 Dan Division.

Cheer them on as they prepare to make an even greater impact going forward!
