The UCLA Hockey team took decisive wins over crosstown rival USC this past Thursday and Friday, at The Cube Santa Clarita.
Winning 10-3 and 10-1 respectively, the Bruins (9-1; 6-1 in PAC-8 Conference play) played dominantly in both games from the opening faceoff and showed their poise as a team, never letting USC gain momentum. The Trojans (2-7) have struggled at times this season, but will undoubtedly come prepared for their second round of games against the Bruins in January.
UCLA has made great strides in their organization and play as a team. They entered this weekend 7-1, with strong wins over Eastern Washington (3-1; 5-1), Cal State Fullerton (9-0), San Jose State (8-1; 9-0), and Long Beach State (8-1). The Bruins also toppled perennial powerhouse, Arizona State, 6-1, on October, 23rd after coming up short to the Sun Devils 0-1 the previous night.

The Bruins are ranked 8th overall in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Western USA Region. UCLA Hockey was established nearly 100 years ago and with their tradition of excellence flowing through their alumni and current members, the Bruins are looking to make a name for themselves this season with a PAC-8 title run.
The Bruins' next home games will be against the UC San Diego Tritons on 12/3 and 12/4 at 8:30pm at The Cube Santa Clarita.Â
